just fyi

i'll be down one reader (25%) for a few days, and you'll be down one writer. my good friend Sayshuh will be stepping in to write while I'm up in the bay area and I'm sure he will surprise and delight you with his ism's and ish't. Not to mention his strong penchant for the vulgar and offensive. So bring your salt and take a few grains cause i'm hoping he's raunchy.

ashes to ashes, fins to toilet...my eulogy to max

My good friend and constant bedfellow, Max, for short, or Beta Max the Rainbow Fish, for long, has gone to the sweet hereafter. I'm putting his age at about 3 years 1 month. I've had him since December 03 when my nephews got him for me, already full grown. He was a happy homosexual fish or so I believed because he was so aptly named originally Rainbow Fish (later changed by me for all you old beta max tape loving people), by them. He moved in with me in Jan 03 to the Van Nuys house and has been there every single day. Sometimes swimming, sometimes sitting [looking dead] at the bottom of the bowl, but alas every single time I dropped a pellet in his bowl he would swim up and get it. Today I dropped in the pellets and noticed he didnt move. This was standard sometimes and i would tap the bowl and around and around he would then swim. Today was different. I was up long before the sun came up and I had to turn on the light next to my bed to make sure he would pop up to get his breakfast. I noticed his eyes were white and his fin was in his gill coming out of his mouth. At this point I was sure that he had tricked me no more. I am sad to see him go. I am even sad that I won't be able to clean out his bowl for his sometimes semi monthly bowl cleaning. I know, often it was murky Max, murky with your own poo, but you are a beta fish, one of the toughest freshwater fish in nature. You live in rice patties and essentially eat the waste in water. You are essentially, a very very pretty carp, not far removed from a catfish. But you survived your brother (also given by my nephews to my mom at the same time) by over two years and 4 replacement brothers that mom has subsequently seen the demise of.

I hope you didn't mind that sometimes I put you and your brothers' bowl right next to each other and watched with delight as you guys fluffed up to your colorful best. I hope you didn't mind me holding a mirror up to your bowl occasionally to again gleefully delight in your aggression even with yourself. I also remember when you would wake me up in the morning (much later [to your credit] than your much furrier and larger mammal cousin Hiram) blowing bubbles and staring at me eerily as if you were speaking to me, or just asking for food. I saw you through diets and a bloated belly to bring you back down to your fighting weight even though you were retired or a never contender, as far as I know. You will be missed, you were a good beta and had never broken my heart or posed a threat unlike your 50 gallon predescessor did all over my dvd collection. I hope you're good where you are now. I'm sorry I sent your body away with all the poop. I would rather that than have Hiram dig you up and snack on you. Take care fish...and hopefully you have reached enlightenment.

meh

i was walking the pooch late tonight and he stopped in front of the beloved neighbors house and tried in vain to go after their cat. At this point female motherly neighbor was coming out the door and heard the pooch panting. She started to step back inside when i called out and told her it was hiram trying to get her cat. She confidently stepped back out and stated that she had heard the heavy breathing and said "oh it's just Hiram," and thought it was some kind of pervert. She don't know him very well do she?

i don't want to blog about the weekend. it was mine. i'm keeping that shred of my life for me this time. fuck off...i do have a sunburn tho. peace out, all 4 of you

she still thinks my team is the A's

From canela

Her Side of the Story:

He was in an odd mood Sunday night. We planned to meet at a bar
for a drink. I spent the afternoon shopping with the girls and
I thought it might have been my fault because I was a bit later
than I promised, but he didn't say anything much about it.

The conversation was very slow going so I thought we should go off
somewhere more intimate so we could talk more privately. We went
to this restaurant and he was STILL acting a bit funny. I tried to
cheer him up and started to wonder whether it was me or something
else. I asked him, and he said no. But I wasn't really sure.

So anyway, in the car on the way back home, I said that I loved him
deeply and he just put his arm around me. I didn't know what the
hell that meant because you know he didn't say it back or anything.
We finally got back home and I was wondering if he was going to
leave me! So I tried to get him to talk but he just switched on
the TV. Reluctantly, I said I was going to go to bed. Then after
about 10 minutes, he joined me and to my surprise, we made love.

But, he still seemed really distracted, so afterwards I just wanted
to confront him but I just cried myself to sleep. I just don't know
what to do anymore. I mean, I really think he's seeing someone else.

goddamnit!!!

it has not been a very good post humpday week. Yesterday I just ended up really cranky, really behind in what i wanted to do and woke up with the same crank. This morning at work after turning over my portfolio to someone that has no idea how a portfolio should look and not being able to talk about it, I split my pants about 7 inches right in the crotch. The pants are actually the loosest they've ever been but them being baggy they wrapped around my knees and as I bent down I heard it. I have procured a private area and a sewing kit and will attempt to make some temporary albeit necessary repairs. you ever read this?

Get yerr pirate booty info here ya Lubbers. If yer fancy'n a true talk loike a pirate go here but bring rum, cause i'twon't come natur'ly far'ya, nasty varmints!

Plus in the debate of Pirates vs Ninjas you gotta take a strong stand on the sides of the bilgerats cause theres no talk like a ninja day. Seriously. Ninjas don't talk!!! You can have a stalk like a ninja day, but that can't be all that fun, unless you're paparazzi i guess. and what if a pirate procreated with a ninja woman. i wonder what that would look like? Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaar, the debate caaaaaaaaaaaarrrries on.

i was all over, what about you?

Lesse, friday miss dirty car and i went to a vegetarian restaurant in the valley and found it was an all out market. It'll be on losanjealous at some point in the next week for a review. it was good.

Saturday mulled about most of the day and left early with miss dirty car to go hit up lovely house in the hills to pick up the brit to go to the banksy show. We hit up Mexico City on Hillhurst for some cocktails and munchables before we headed over for the Shepard Fairey show that I didn't really think was that impressive. There were all sorts of somewhat celebrities and tons of art that looked exactly like each other. Makes me wonder if Shepard did it or one of his minions did it for him. Then onto another Thacker recommended show that, well, I won't recommend. Got home from all that reasonably early, and I'll have a review of all three for losanjealous as well.

Sunday Hye got to go walk with his girlfriend and his crotchety (but sweet) older cousin Buffalo. It was a lovely walk through a lovely neighborhood with extremely lovely people both 2 legged and 4. Headed home and washed Miss Dirty Cars filthy mode of transportation. This thing had a number done on it and is so shinybright that they have reclassified it as a dwarf planet. Sorry pluto. We went shopping for a TON of groceries to feed us for a week or so. No meat, go us! But plenty of meat subs and veggies, and healthy as hell stuff. A little dinner at Marias and that concluded a damn fine weekend.

Hmph not a very meaty post either. I just don't want to blow the wad on things I'm saving all my ultra psuedo creativity for the more semi official posts on other sites.

Over my years of learning new and contemporary art forms I find myself enjoying the subversive nature. I dabbled in tagging as a kid and piecing in my book but never got all out into it. But hell yeah it's an art, unfortunately, like mainstream art theres just a ton of bad ones out there. Lots and lots of good ones though. the funny thing was about going to the banksy and obey shows were that you could see all the graffists, they had the fashionable hoodies on. The good ones didn't tho. Ones wearing hoodies are toy fashionistas, unless that dude is rollin out and piecing something right after.

i gotta say...

Chad over at ECEU hit this one on the nose. Listen, this is just nice.

also theres some new (read-unreleased) tunes over at Elliott Smith B-Sides

aaaahhhhhhhhh

I hold the truth to be self evident that pants and shoes are not truly comfortable until they're beaten up and well worn. I love my pants with beaten up cuffs, a holey pocket (not the inside) wallet wear, and vans that almost have no sole, thus helping them have a ton of soul. I just like it. on that subject, that is all.

I'm trying to think of a full time blog name for the Shiny Button Girl. i have taken to changing her name in just about every post. I think i'll make it a contest. If you know her you may know quite a few references. (keep it somewhat anonymous please) If you don't know her, that might make it even more fun, throw anything out there. I'm sure she'll appreciate it, or definitely not. And thats fine by me.

damn yooooooooooooooou!!!

but thank you sound team for playing throughout my morning. I enjoyed you thoroughly. you too emily haines.

now bugger off all of you! especially you joetoes........yes, yes, i know you'll all be back. notty bastards.

Lou Dobbs said it aight this morning...

I, for one, do not want to hear another of our generals urge the American people to be patient. Patience favors the enemy. And our generals have the responsibility to our brave troops and this nation to deliver certain victory, and that responsibility rests first and foremost with the commander in chief.

atleast the accountability part. Certain victory will be assured for americans by Ho Chi Minh, as history will atest.....oh wait, we didn't win that one either.

it only gets better

I have been like 0 for 40 on rock paper scissors for over a month. Well today I took a 2 out of 3 from a coworker and nothing changes your fortune or transfers your illfate better than winning one of those after not having done for such a long time. So bring it bitches. I'll ro-sham-bo all over your cluckah asses.

Why are they all right next to schools?!?

National Sex Offender Registry

jesus, good thing i'm not a kid and not havin' any.

ummmmmmmmm

I'm really not writing all that much lately. my bad.

My stomach has been rejecting meat since I've been on my kick. I had meat last week, and it came back up. I had meat Saturday with J and D with little miss food poisoning and I had the 'rhea. Sunday I ate chicken at my moms and got sick again. I can feel it almost immediately. I start sweating really badly and my stomach feels like it's a washing machine on agitate. As soon as it comes back up I feel fine. Go fig.

I did find out what I'm going as for Halloween, so I'll fill you in on that later so as I don't kill the surprise. I have to say tending to little miss food poisoning was actually quite nice. I liked it. I think I'll keep her.

Sunday, went to moms for my bro's birthday. See his birthday is actually today so i think every year we're going to do all we can to celebrate it on an adjacent day. His daughter actually took to me quickly this time. Usually she's a bit skiddish around me but then warms up to me. She's adorable. Purdy as a 20's flapper with hair to match. Seriously her hair naturally is curly as hell but sticks to her head in waves. it's cute as anything. My dog is a noble, noble beast. He cares about those kids (after he calms down) and keeps an eye on them. My nephew is pretty scared of him when he first sees him, but he was rolling on the floor with him and giving him WWF hugs after a while. He did call him Linus a ton but I quit correcting him as Linus DOES have alot of the same noble childcare qualities. After getting sick I went back to my Barrelli Creek Zin (96 pts) and enjoyed that and a bit of chocolate cake. I've indulged in about as many sweets as I have meat so i was a bit worried i wouldn't feel good but my body never rejected it. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD BODY, thank you. Homemade pesto was tasty and I took a bunch home so I can grub on that later. Thats it, I didn't accomplish anything amazing. i didn't see anything truly amazing, some decent art but not anything of note.
