Darwin will take care of her.

It was oyies bday yesterday (so he can chime in) and we went to Stanleys which is a pretty good restaurant in Sherman Oaks area. We order our food and right off we can tell the waitress isn't the brightest bulb in the lamp, I digress, we continue, but she had seemed to miss the basics in waitressing 101 and didn't offer us much and did very little to live up to the standard that we've come to expect from this establishment. She cleared two of our plates early and while the others were still eating she prematurely asked if we wanted the dessert menu and after quite a few missteps on her part (we were tolerant), Master Vic asked if she was in a hurry or something and she said "no, believe me you'd know when i was rushing you." now who says that? Sooooooooo, we finish eating, decline the dessert menu again, and she brings the bill and oyie pays it (yes, he pays it on his bday and we respect that). She brings back the credit receipt to sign and it showing the bill went from around $90 to $28. We know she missed the input of the correct amount and we all agree to let her know and dock her tip significantly cause she was either having a really shitty day and kharma was going to keep that going, or she was just an idiot. I'm leaning toward #2. She kept looking out of the kitchen area at us to see if we were gone and we were not as we were waiting for her to come over. She does this again and we all stared at her trying to get her attention, and nope. She then comes over to the table next to us does something with them and walks away quickly not even thinking to wonder why we're still there this long after settling the tab and not even acknowledging us, so that was strike 3 and we left paying for our $35 meal that she's gonna get docked for. We were never rude to her, but simply asked for basic things, like pepper, a proper salad tossing (yeah, yeah snicker, snicker), iced tea, that weren't met either very well or at all. She even lost out on the corking fee for the bottle we brought in. So do you think that was uncalled for? Deserved? I feel fine with it as in the post title, I think natural selection will prove that she won't be there long.

In spain you are supposed to pay for dinner and drinks on your birthday, too.

If you tried to be honest, and she simply wouldn't acknowledge you, i think what you did was okay. Sometimes a person needs more than just a small/no tip to correct their actions. It's like, pavlovian, or something.

i am a waitress and i don't think what you did was wrong at all. i mean, everyone makes mistakes (referring to the bill part), but you did try to help her out. at this point, it's her own fault.

They don't balance out at the end of the night? Can't they go back and add the charge to his card if the have the original bill?
